The Westbrook Wildcats swept Baird in a 3-game series for the Regional Semi-Final Championship on Thursday night. The scores for those games are listed below:
Game 1: 7-6 in 8 innings
Game 2: 12-2 in 5 innings
The Wildcats will now face Nazareth for the Regional Finals. More information on that will be announced later.

Coahoma High School had five softball girls make the 5-3A All-District superlatives and Head Coach Alex Orosco was named the 5-3A Softball Coach of the Year!
District MVP - Jocelyn Torres-Mendoza
Offensive MVP - Madison Rodgers
Defensive MVP - Kenzi Canales
Pitcher - MaKynlee Overton
Utility - Makayla Calvio
Coach of the Year - Alex Orosco
Coahoma went 8-0 in 5-3A District play and ended with a 26-7 overall record. They made the third round of the playoffs this year. It was the first time a Coahoma softball team has made it to the regional quarterfinals since 2014.
Coach Orosco has served as the head coach for the CHS softball team for the last five years. He has a 90-41 record as the head softball coach.

SOFTBALL
Forsan Lady Buffs swept Floydada in two games with final scores of 11-3 and 4-3 to become the Regional Quarterfinal champions! The Lady Buffs will now take on Stamford in the Regional Semi-Final round of the 2021 Softball 2A Region 1 & 3.
According to Forsan ISD, Game 1 is scheduled for Thursday, May 20, 2021, at 5 pm at Abilene Wylie. Games 2 and 3 are set for Coahoma on Saturday at 3 pm and 5 pm. **NOTE: Games are subject to change.**
Coahoma Bulldogettes battled Jacksboro for the Regional Quarterfinal Championship in the 2021 Softball 3A Region 1 & 3 over the weekend but fell short in the 3-game series.
Howard Lady Hawks played NJCAA Region V over the weekend. During the tournament they competed against Western Texas College and Odessa College. The lady Hawks won two games over the Lady Westerners with a score of 19-0, but fell to Odessa in 2 out of 3 games.
BASEBALL
Forsan Buffs competed against Hamilton in the Area Round of the playoffs for 2021 Baseball 2A Region 1 & 3. They lost both games with final scores of 13-1 and 9-3.
Westbrook Wildcats won their games over Cross Plains to become the Regional Quarterfinal Champions in the playoffs for 2021 Baseball 1A Region 1 & 3. Next they'll take on Baird in a doubleheader on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at 4 pm. These games will be played at Abilene Cooper High School in Abilene. Game 3, if necessary, will be on Friday, May 21st.

Congratulations to Rylee Evans, a senior at Forsan High School, on signing her letter of intent to play basketball for McMurry University, a private Methodist University in Abilene, TX.
"It was super exciting. I'm really grateful for all of the support that they've shown me throughout the years, and I'm just really grateful for all of them," said Evans on celebrating the accomplishment with friends and family.
Evans says she’s been playing basketball since she was old enough to hold one.
"Since I could remember, my older sister played basketball so I was always with her at all of her basketball practices and stuff," said Evans.
While at McMurry University, Evans plans to study Business but says that may change over time once she gets her basics out of the way. She told KBest News that she’s super excited and grateful about the opportunity and can’t wait to see where it goes and what the future holds.

Big Spring High School’s Phillip Lopez signed his letter of intent to play competitive golf for the University Of The Southwest, a private Christian university in Hobbs, New Mexico on Tuesday morning.
When asked how he felt to be able to have his signing while surrounded by friends and family, Lopez said he was speechless, "I'm glad that everyone got to come. I'm glad I got to sign. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I'm just glad that I'm doing it."
Lopez says he’s been playing golf competitively since the 7th grade, but it was in 6th grade that he was taught how to play by his family.
"I just want to thank my uncle Matt, my uncle JR, and [grandfather] Pano. Their the ones who taught me golf. Without them, I wouldn't be here right now," said Lopez.
While at the University of Southwest Lopez plans to study Finance and Business and hopes to be a financial advisor.

Coahoma High School's Vance Ott placed 1st in the 400 meter dash and the 100 meter dash in the wheelchair events at the State Track Meet that was held last week! He also earned silver in shotput!
Forsan sophomore Aleena Nelson also competed at the State Meet on Friday, May 7, 2021. She placed 6th in shotput.

On Friday, Howard College recognized donors Sonic and Edward Jones for their donation to purchase the new softball scoreboard at Foundation Field.
The Howard College Lady Hawks wrapped up their regular softball season with a conference championship! They are now the 2021 WJCAC Softball Conference Champs! This means they are now guaranteed to play at 5:30 pm this Friday, May 14, 2021, at Lubbock Christian.
HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL
Coahoma Bulldogettes swept City View over the weekend to earn the Area Championship! Final scores for those games were 3-1 and 7-2. The Bulldogettes will move on to the Regional Quarterfinal Game where they’ll play Jacksboro at Abilene Cooper. Game 1 will be on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at 6 PM, and Game 2 will be on Friday, May 14, at 5 PM with Game 3 to follow if needed.
Big Spring Lady Steers lost to Seminole on Saturday in the Area round of the playoffs. Final score Big Spring 4, Seminole 8.
This week, Forsan Lady Buffs will compete against Floydada for the Regional Quarterfinal Championship in Brownfield. Game 1 is Thursday, May 13th, at 5 PM, and Game 2 will be Friday, May 14th, at 5 PM with Game 3 to follow if needed.
HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL
The Forsan Buffs swept Christoval on Friday afternoon with final scores of 10-9 and 14-7. The Buffs will move on to play Hamilton for the Area Championship at Abilene Christian University. Game 1 will be on Thursday, May 13, at 7 PM, Game 2 will be on Friday, May 14, at 7 PM, and Game 3 if needed will be on Saturday at 7 PM.
Coahoma Bulldogs lost to Wall in their Bi-District round. Final scores 10-0 and 21-2, both in favor of Wall.

Howard College Lady Hawks softball team played a doubleheader against Odessa College yesterday afternoon. They lost Game 1 with a score of 8-3, and won Game 2 with a final score of 12-11. They’ll play another doubleheader against the Odessa Lady Wranglers at 1 pm and 3 pm today. Listen to a live broadcast of those games on The Mighty 1490 AM and the new FM 103.9.

SOFTBALL
Big Spring Lady Steers won Game 2 against Hereford on Saturday, May 1, 2021, with a final score of 10-3! The Bi-District champs will now face off against Seminole in the next round of the playoffs.
Coahoma Bulldogettes swept Clyde in 2 games to win their Bi-District Championship this weekend. On Friday, April 30, 2021, they won 16-10, and on Saturday, May 1st, they won 20-3. Next, they will play against City View in a three game series for the area round of playoffs. Game one will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, May 7th, at Iowa Park. Game two will start at 4 p.m. Saturday in Coahoma and if necessary, game three will begin 30 minutes after game two.
Forsan Lady Buffs won their game over Lockney with a final score of 9-0. They will now move on to the Area Playoff games against Clarendon at Littlefield on Thursday, May 6th, at 5 PM. If needed, Game 3 will be on Friday, May 7th, at 5 PM.
Stanton Lady Buffs lost their Bi-District game against the Ballinger Ladycats on Friday afternoon. Final score was 17-3. Even though they lost the game, the Lady Buffs still made history as this was the first time the softball team had ever made it to the playoffs.
BASEBALL
Forsan Buffs Baseball team will play against Christoval in Bi-District games on Friday, May 7th, at 4:30 pm in Forsan. If a third game is needed, it will be played on Saturday, May 8th, at Bell St. Complex in San Angelo.
Coahoma Bulldogs won with a final score of 13-4 over Sonora on Monday night, 05/03/21. Coahoma will now face Wall in the Bi-District round. More information will be announced soon.
