Yesterday, Mark Adams, Associate Head Basketball Coach at Texas Tech, was honored as the recipient of the Good Scout Award. This award honors people that live up to the ideals of scouting.
Coach Adams helped lead Texas Tech to the 2019 NCAA National Championship final in his third season as an assistant coach after the team advanced to the 2018 Elite Eight. He had also previously led Howard College, located in Big Spring, to the 2010 NJCAA National Championship and was named the NJCAA's National Coach of the Year.
Adams has piled up 15 Coach of the Year honors during his tenure as a head coach. He has also captured six region, conference, or district Coach of the Year honors over his career.
Adams is a 1979 graduate of Texas Tech. He and his wife, Jennifer, are the parents of two children: Luke and Abbie. Luke is the men's basketball head coach at New Mexico Junior College, and Abbie is working as a speech-language pathologist. They are both graduates of Texas Tech.
