On Wednesday morning, Big Spring High School Kyler Seymore signed a letter of intent to compete with Tarleton State University in their Track and Field program as a high jumper.
Seymore has been competing in high jumping for the Steers since his freshman year, but he’s been competing since the 7th grade. Since his time with the Steers, he’s had three different coaches all of whom were at his signing.
When asked how he felt to be able to celebrate his accomplishment with his friends and family, Seymore told KBest News that it's been a dream of his to compete at a Division I school since he was a kid.
"It's a dream come true," said Seymore.
According to BSHS Principal Mike Ritchey, Seymore is ranked 4th academically in his class of 240. Seymore told KBest News that he plans on studying Biomedics and to become a dentist after earning his Bachelor’s.
Tarleton State University is a NCAA Division I school located in Stephenville, TX.
