Yesterday, Big Spring High School celebrated Senior Jocelyn Gonzales signed a letter of intent to play collegiate athletics for Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas. Gonzales will be playing both volleyball and softball for the Lobos.
While surrounded by her family and friends, Gonzales thanked her parents, coaches, teammates, and friends for their support. When asked how she felt to be able to share the moment with those close to her, Gonzales stated, "I feel blessed and honored, really. I can't believe this moment is happening, and it's just a dream come true, really."
In softball, Gonzales plays 1st and 3rd and in volleyball she plays outside hitter and setter. She told KBest News that she’s been playing softball since she was 4 and has been playing volleyball since she was in 6th grade.
While attending Sul Ross, Gonzales plans to major in History and minor in Kinesiology. She hopes to become a coach after graduation.
