No. 14 COAHOMA 0, No. 16 CLYDE 1

MILES - The Bulldogettes will head into playoffs seeded second in District 5 3A after losing a hard fought game against the Clyde Lady Bulldogs 1-0 Monday in Miles.

Meeting for the second time in four days, the two co-district champions battled fiercely for seeding rights showing just how tough these two teams are this year.

Control of the game stayed on the pitcher's mound during all 7 innings of play. Both Coahoma’s MaKynlee Overton and Clyde’s Kaitlyn Turner didn’t give an inch to batters evident in the hit count. Coahoma had 3 hits over 7 innings. Clyde only had one but it was enough to determine the outcome of the game.

Heading into the bottom of the 7th, Jacie Roberts singled on the first pitch and later scored the winning run after fellow teammate Petyon Lee hit a sacrifice fly ball to right field. Leading the Bulldogettes at bat were Caitlyn Corley, Kamri Kemper, and Overton, who had the only double in the game for either team.

On the mound, Overton allowed 1 run from 1 hit and struck out three. She earned 47 strikes from 70 pitches and faced 21 batters.

Next: Coahoma will face Bangs at 7 p.m. Friday at San Angelo Central Softball field.

2B, Coahoma - Overton
