Bulldogettes win 5-1 over Lady Indians on 04/06/18.
Final Score: JIM NED 1, COAHOMA 5

The Bulldogettes jumped out to an early lead over the Jim Ned Lady Indians and continued hold the line to win 5-1 Friday evening.

The victory improves Coahoma’s district record to 6-1 and 14-2 for the season. Coahoma had 12 hits in the game compared to Jim Ned’s 5. Lexi Montelongo, Jaydan Mann, Raegan Deel, MaKayla Overton, and Kenzi Canales all had 2 hits each for the Bulldogettes. Caitlyn Corley led the Coahoma team in RBIs. She collected 2 during the match. Montelongo, Kamri Kemper, and MaKayla Overton brought in 1 RBI apiece.

MaKynlee Overton went 7 full innings for Bulldogettes on the mound. She allowed 1 run over 5 hits, struck out 5, walked 1, and faced 25 batters. She threw 75 pitches and got 52 strikes.

Bulldogs win over Indians on April 6th.
Final Score: JIM NED 2, COAHOMA 9

Zach Holmes hit a triple in the fifth inning igniting the Bulldog offense to a 9-2 victory over the Jim Ned Indians during a chilly and windy West Texas Friday night.

The Coahoma High School standout went 4-for-4 at the plate with 3 RBI, 2 runs, and 2 stolen bases for the match.

Holmes worked his magic when the Bulldogs needed it most. Heading into the fifth, the Coahoma team was down by 1 run before Holmes knocked in the RBI to knot the score at 2-all. Coahoma left the frame ahead of the Indians 4-2 thanks to a sacrifice by Logan Franklin to bring Braden Pearson across home plate and Holmes, who scored on a wild pitch.

Leading off for Coahoma’s heavy hitters in the sixth was Zack Schneider who blasting a double on a line drive to right field. Schneider, Holmes, Seth Brooks, and Franklin all had RBIs in the inning.

Franklin is credited for the win. He pitched 6 ? innings for the match, allowed 2 runs from 4 hits, walked 5, and struck out six. Franklin earned 65 strikes from 111 pitches. Holmes came in as relief in the sixth.

Z. Schneider and Landon Grant both went 2-for-3 and had 2 runs. With the victory, the Bulldogs improve to 4-2 in District 5 3A play and 7-11-2 for the season.

Next: The Bulldogs will travel to Merkel Friday to take on the Badgers. The JV will play at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity game begins at 7 p.m.
