Coahoma standout Mason Moore placed first in the individual medal standings at the Garden City High School Invitational by firing off a round of 79 during a windy West Texas day of golf.
The Coahoma senior’s outstanding performance on the 18-hole course led the boys team to an 8th place finish with a mark of 424. That was just one stroke behind Sterling City’s No. 2 team at the tournament which was held at the Big Spring Country Club Monday.
Tyler McFall had a solid performance on the links for the Bulldogs. He fired off a round of 104. Taylor Barnes, Cutter Atkins, and Aaron Turnbough also played well for Coahoma. Barnes penciled in a round of 114 while Atkins and Turnbough shot 127 and 132 respectively.
Garden City No. 1 boys team finished first with a score of 370 edging out the nearest competitor Stanton by 18 strokes. Garden City No. 2 and Rankin No. 1 teams finished third and fourth with marks of 399 and 401 respectively.
For the Coahoma girls team, Providence Dickson and Kirah Kimball had solid outings on the course. Dickson shot 128 on the links while Kimball carded a round of 137.
