According to Rosi Slate from the BSISD ATC, the 7th grade B Lady Steers B team took a big win over Midland Christian last night. The final score was 34-15. Jalen Sykes and Mia Bustamante dominated underneath and with buckets. Emily Matthews and Neli Mendez were on fire on defense. Genna Bedinger and Keirstan Furuya were stong leaders on offense. Everyone hustled and worked hard.

The 7th grade A team worked hard and it showed. There was a major improvement from the first game so it goes to show how much dedication they've had to improving their skills and teamwork abilities. The final score was 26-18. Monica Gutierrez and Kourtney Moore led in scoring with 8 points each. Lani Mendez played well on defense along with Elaina Arredondo. The girls looked up the court and moved the ball well.

The 8th grade A girls beat Midland Christian 50-25 last night. Alex Enriquez led the way with 14 points followed by Ryen Terrazas pitched in 10 points. Tristen Smith led in assists. Kalyn Whitehead was the leading rebounder. Brinly Watkins and Anaika Delgado were the hustling Lady Steers for the game.

The 8th Grade “B” team played well yesterday. The leading scorers for the second time in a row were Kayleigh Muniz and Trinity Robertson. Celestina Quintana, Hailey Zarraga, Mallory Paul, and Gabby Gonzales also contributed to putting points on the board. Great defense was played by Kayleigh Muniz, Mallory Paul, and Kylee Lynch. The girls worked well as a team and that’s what helped us come away with a win. We play Midland Christian again in two weeks and hope to dominate them again.

Way to go Steers!
