BIG SPRING, TX — West Texas VA Health Care System (WTVAHCS) will conduct a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Fort Stockton Outreach Clinic, May 7, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.  The Fort Stockton Outreach Clinic is located at 1205 North Sycamore Street, Fort Stockton, TX 79735-4122.

Both the Moderna and Janssen vaccines will be available to all Veterans, enrolled in VA Health Care or not, spouses and caregivers.

To better enable WTVAHCS staff to ensure an adequate supply of vaccine is on hand, WTVAHCS encourages those desiring to receive the vaccine to call the COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline, 432-268-2564, to schedule an appointment.  Appointments, however, are not required.

“We appreciate the patience and resilience of our Veterans in the Fort Stockton and surrounding areas,” said Jason Cave, Director of WTVAHCS.  “We’re glad that we are now able to extend the reach of our vaccination team and look forward to bringing this team to Fort Stockton.”

VA has resumed offering the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) COVID-19 vaccine to individuals 18 years and older, in accordance with CDC and FDA guidelines, following a 10-day safety pause. After careful review and evaluation, the FDA and CDC have confidence that this vaccine is safe for use and effective in preventing COVID-19. The available data show that the vaccine’s benefits outweigh its risks and the chance of blood clots occurring following its administration is very low.

The primary goal of COVID-19 vaccination is to protect those we serve from COVID-19, and VA’s priority remains the safety of all those receiving vaccine from VA, including Veterans, their spouses, caregivers, employees and federal partners.
