BIG SPRING, TX — West Texas VA Health Care System (WTVAHCS) is very excited to begin providing vaccines effective April 1, 2021, to those described in the SAVE LIVES Act, which was signed into law on Tuesday, March 24, 2021.
If you are already an eligible, VA healthcare-enrolled Veteran and wish to schedule an appointment to receive the vaccine, please call the COVID-19 Vaccination hotline at 432-268-2564, during business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through
VA is now offering COVID-19 vaccines to all Veterans, their spouses, eligible caregivers, and CHAMPVA beneficiaries. If you meet the SAVE LIVES Act criteria, WTVAHCS is offering COVID-19 vaccines on a first come, first serve basis, dependent upon vaccine availability. If you are a Veteran not yet enrolled, although not required, it is helpful if you bring your DD-214 (separation papers) with you.
COVID-19 vaccines are available currently at nearly every WTVAHCS location, including Permian Basin, San Angelo, Abilene, Big Spring, and Hobbs, NM Community Based Outpatient Clinics.

They are honored to continue to serve America's heroes, their spouses, caregivers, and family.
According to William Hatton, Public Affairs Specialist for the West Texas VA Health Care System, “We will continue to prioritize vaccinations and healthcare delivery for Veterans already enrolled in VA care. As supply permits, Veterans currently not enrolled, caregivers, spouses and CHAMPVA beneficiaries may make appointment to be vaccinated by WTVAHCS. Walk-ins are strongly discouraged. If you have questions about the vaccine or would like to make an appointment, please call our COVID-19 Vaccination hotline at 432-268-2564.”
