The City of Big Spring Large/Bulk Item Pickup program is part of their plan to help keep neighborhoods clean. The program is designed to help residents dispose of large items from their homes like couches, mattresses, appliances, and any other large, bulky items without the expense and hassle of hauling it off. All residents are encouraged to take advantage of this FREE program.
Residents must get on the pickup schedule to have large/bulk items picked up. If you do not get on the schedule, your items will not be picked up. The first pickup day is for District 1 on January 20, 2021. The deadline for District 1 residents to schedule a pickup for their designated collection day is 5 PM on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
According to Councilman Nick Ornelas, District 1, when constituents call in to the Public Works Office to schedule their pick-up, they’ll be asked if they are 60 years of age or older and if they need assistance placing items on the curb. If yes, Ornelas will make arrangements for ALSA Car Club to assist these individuals.
