When There's Smoke on the Mountain or Clouds in the Air, K-Best News Is There!

The Big Spring Centennial Lions Club recently held a Peace Poster Contest that could lead to scholarships for the winning children.

"We'll give scholarships to the winning child after it goes through a progression, from us to our district, from the district on up the chain; and it's gonna be judged worldwide. It's a very big event for the Lions Club," said Dave Stives, President of the local organization.

Stives told KBest News that the contest promotes peace among children and brings awareness.

"It also brings awareness that we're all in this world together to have peace, love, and prosperity," Stives continued.

Poster entries are from Big Spring Junior High, and winners have not yet been selected.

The Big Spring Centennial Lions Club meets at 6:30 PM every 2nd and 4th Thursday at First Nazarene Church in Big Spring.
