When There's Smoke on the Mountain or Clouds in the Air, K-Best News Is There!

Yesterday, 24-year-old Big Spring resident Anthony Rivas was joined by friends outside of Isaiah 58 in Big Spring to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed help gathering groceries for a Thanksgiving family meal. Rivas was inspired to organize a food drive after participating in a similar event earlier this month.

Jessica Blanco, one of the friends helping to distribute food yesterday, told KBest News that she was impressed that Rivas had this desire to give back to the Big Spring community because of how young he is.

"It's rare that you see something like that," said Blanco. "You know, someone taking initiative and saying, 'Hey, I wanna give back to my town.'"

Rivas told KBest News that he was blessed, surprised and excited to help the 16 families that showed up for the event. He now plans to partner with Isaiah 58 for a toy drive.
