The 16th annual Forsan Community Prayer Breakfast will be on Wednesday, August 14th, from 7:30 – 8:30 AM.
Randy Johnson, Superintendent of Forsan Independent School District, told KBest News that Howard County community members are invited to attend the breakfast, and noted that the event is not an official school function. Tickets are sold for $5 each to cover the cost of the meal, and no public monies are used for the event.
Johnson told KBest News that he believed the event is important to Howard County.
"My personal beliefs are that this is vital. Not only at this one time of year, but to try to set the stage for people to support their own children, support their community, support their schools through prayer," said Johnson. "So, whether it's Forsan ISD, Big Spring ISD, Coahoma, or whatever it is, I just want to encourage people to invite God into our schools and try to tap into that power and authority."
This year’s featured speaker is Pastor Tim Dunn of Hillside Christian Church. Pastor Darren Weaver of Forsan Baptist Church will act as the emcee and be providing special music for the event. It should be noted that the entire meal and program will last only 1 hour so that attendees can get to their place of employment without missing a great deal of work time.
Tickets may be purchased from Forsan Elementary, Forsan Jr. and Senior High School, or the Superintendent’s Office. Be advised that tickets must be purchased, or reserved by phone, ahead of time in order to assist with meal planning.
