Texas DPS has identified the man killed in Tuesday afternoon’s, 08/06/19, wreck in Martin County.
According to the crash report, DPS Troopers responded to the accident involving two truck-tractors on FM 819, 10 miles northwest of Stanton, at approximately 2:17 PM on August 6th.
The investigation revealed that Gerardo Cano-Flores, 22 of Homestead, FL, was towing a semi-trailer traveling west on CR 3100. He then failed to yield to the right of way at the stop sign intersection of FM 829 and struck another truck-tractor traveling south on FM 829. The driver of the 2nd truck tractor, Adolfo Soto-Perez, 55 of Fort Hancock, TX, was towing a mobile home at the time of the crash.
Cano-Flores sustained non-capacitating injuries and was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland. Soto-Perez was pronounced dead on scene.
The investigation reported that Cano-Flores did not have his seatbelt on at the time of the crash, however, it’s been undetermined whether Soto-Perez, was wearing his seatbelt.
