Blended and Blessed is a one-day live event and livestream for stepfamily couples, single parents, dating couples with kids, and those who care about blended families. The event will be on Saturday, April 27th, from 8:30 to 3:30 PM at First Baptist Church in Big Spring.
According to Courtney Samsel, Licensed Professional Counselor, blended families make up more than 40 percent of the population. Samsel told KBest News that many people enter a blended family situation with unrealistic expectations, thinking that everyone will easily get along with each other.
"I think that there are so many emotions already involved due to the past of what's gone on in the family, and then you add [blending families] in. I think it causes so much more stress," said Samsel.
She went on to say that the information offered at the event will help parents be able to develop realistic expectations on where everyone is with their feelings, how to respect that, and, ultimately, learn to communicate with each other within the family.
RSVP for the event is required. To do so, contact Courtney at email@example.com to RSVP with number attending.
