Applications are still being accepted for the Phyllis Graumann Memorial Scholarship for 2019. This will be the 7th year that the scholarship is awarded in honor of Phyllis Graumann, a Charter Guild and Board member, as well as a longtime Big Spring Symphony supporter.
The purpose of the scholarship is to aid 7th – 11th grade Howard County music students in acquiring additional instrumental or vocal training. If selected, high school recipients will receive a $300 scholarship and junior high recipients will receive a $150 scholarship that is to be used for private music instruction, music camp/school tuition, music festival attendance or any other music training related expense.
Instrumentalists and vocalist may apply from their 7th grade year through the completion of their junior year of high school. Applicants should be between the ages of 12 and 18.
