During yesterday’s meeting of the Howard County Commissioners Court, the retirement resignation of Judge Bennie Green, Justice of the Peace for Precinct 1, Place 1, was accepted by the Commissioners. Angela Griffin, who’s been working in the County Attorney’s Office under Josh Hamby for the last 10 years will be appointed to fill the position.


Griffin has stated that she is very honored to have been chosen for the position and is excited to be the new Justice of the Peace for Precinct 1, Place 1. When asked what she looks forward to the most in her new position, Griffin stated that she looks forward to serving the county and community, excelling in her new position, learning new things and conquering new challenges. She also said that she is excited about marrying people and noted that those ceremonies would be very special to her. Griffin, along with other county officials, will be sworn in on Wednesday, Jan. 2nd at 10 AM.
