Brent Zitterkopf, Howard County Clerk, advised that the State of Texas has decided to make changes in the system used to print remote birth certificates, or certificates from another Texas county. He also noted that the paper used to print the birth certificates will be different beginning in 2019.

According to Zitterkopf, the County Clerk's office will not be able to print remote birth certificates after December 28th, until the changes take place and the new paper has been received. At this time, there is only one company available to serve the 254 counties in Texas, so he anticipated that it would be late January before Howard County would be able to receive the paper for the birth certificates.
