Yesterday, Captain Josh McKain with the Salvation Army of Big Spring stopped by Coahoma High School to speak with their students. During the assembly, Captain McKain told his story of drug addiction and being on the verge of being sentenced to prison when his life was turned around after accepting Jesus while at a treatment facility.

He opened up to the high school students about his personal story in hopesthat some would connect with his message, which was, “Don’t let the circumstances of your life define you and shape you.”

Captain McKain said the invitation to speak at Coahoma High School came from CISD Superintendent Dr. Amy Jacobs and CHS Principal Cristina Cox after he returned from a recent disaster deployment when Hurricane Florence had hit the Carolinas earlier this year.
