The 8th grade A team defeated Lamesa Thursday 35-9. It was a great defensive effort by the Lady Steers. Emily Matthews, Elaina Arredondo, Katelyn Haynie and Jalen Sykes all played great defense. On offense Kortney Moore was the high scorer and Daniah Wrighter also scored some baskets.

 

8th grade B team came out with a win over Lamesa, 27-8, playing tough offense and defense.  Our top scorers were Kaydence Canales with 9 points, Kailie Fierro with 6 points and Kiersten Furuya with 4 points. Valerie Barrios, Miranda Young and Mia Bustamante added not only points but tough defense and offense. Taylor Partlow, Genevieve Bedinger and Kristen Bermea were all strong on defense and offense, helping the Team pull off the win.

 

The 7th grade A Lady Steers fell to Lamesa last night. Briana Rivera and Julianna Fraser led the way on offense. Delaney Moreno, Kylee Haynie, and Maddison Hamm led out on defense. They fought hard, and the team will keep fighting.

 

7th rade B fell to Lamesa (4-26). The girls played hard on defense, with Angelina Rivera and Abigail Huffstutler leading them. Kendra Banks and Carolina Arguijo leading on offense. All the girls worked really hard and continue to improve.
