The 6th Annual Big Spring Super Sprint and Kid’s Triathlon will take place this Saturday, July 7th beginning at 7 AM at the Russ McEwen Aquatic Center. All competitors will swim in the “Lazy River” loop at the McEwen Aquatic Center, then bike and run inside the Comanche Trail Park.
The Big Spring Kid’s Triathlon is open to youth ages 5 to 15, is a very fun, spectator-friendly event. Ages 5 through 10 will compete in 3 age categories by swimming 100 meters, bike a 4k, then run 1k. Ages 11 though 15 will swim 200 meters, bike an 8 k, and then run 2k.
The Big Spring Super Sprint is open to ages 16 to 99. This event is great for first time triathletes and is also great fun for the seasoned veteran.
Cost for the Kid’s Triathlon is $30 per child, and cost for Super Sprint is $45 per person. It should be noted that both races are a USA Triathlon Sanctioned Event. Registration is still available online at permianbasinevents.com.
