The Coahoma Bulldogettes blew away the Miles Lady Bulldogs early in the game Thursday afternoon raking in 10 runs in the first inning. Coahoma went on to win 17-2.
Lexi Montelongo opened up what would be a very long and fruitful first inning for the Bulldogettes by singling on a fly ball to right field, however, an error by the Lady Bulldog’s right fielder gave Montelongo plenty of time to run the bases and bring in the first score. The Lady Bulldogs tucked away two outs from a pop out and fly out then the Bulldogettes went on a 9-run streak to break open the game.
Chloe Starr, MaKayla Overton, Montelongo, Kamri Kemper, Jayden Mann, MaKynlee Overton, Cassie Grant, and Ashley Romero all brought in RBIs in the first. Miles earned a run in the first inning and one in the third. Coahoma scored 4 runs in the second, 2 in the fourth and 1 in the fifth.
MaKynlee Overton gets the credit for the win. She threw 81 pitches over 5 innings, allowed 2 runs from 3 hits and got six strikeouts. She faced 19 batters and got 55 strikes in the match. The Bulldogette offense was on fire Thursday afternoon. Grant, Corley, and Mann all hit triples in the game. MaKayla Overton, Grant, Montelongo, Kemper, and Makynlee Overton knocked out doubles. Mann and Starr both brought in 2 RBIs a piece.
