Last night the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 47, in Big Spring partnered with the Quilts of Valor Foundation for a presentation recognizing three local veterans who also currently serve as first responders. Those recognized last night were: Engineer Justin McCullough, with the Big Spring Fire Department, Sgt. Blake Jones with the Howard County Sheriff’s Office, and Corporal Christopher Dominguez with Big Spring Police Department.

All men recognized have roots in Howard County. They then made the decision to serve their country and came back to Howard County to serve their communities as first responders.

When asked how they felt to be a part of the presentation and receive a Quilt of Valor, they said they were grateful, humbled, and overwhelmed.
