The Howard County Volunteer Fire Department received a new brush truck last week. According to Volunteer Fire Chief Mitchell Hooper, the truck is a 2.5 Ton Skid. It features a 500 gallon poly tank with 10 gallons of foam. The pump is a HPX-200 KBD24 from Hale, with a Scotty around-the-pump foam system.

The HCVFD was able to get the truck thanks to the Texas Forest Service FFP Grant. The skid unit was added with $20,000 of the excess funds from the anonymous donation the organization had received earlier this year for a new fire truck for the Forsan fire station.

Chief Hooper went on to say that the organization thanked the HCVFD Board members for approving all the extra upgrades that the truck received, noting that this truck will help them fight wildfires and help us in high water rescue.
