The live late-night talk show "Around the Desert" is filmed every Monday night at the Desert Flower Art Bar & Lounge in downtown Big Spring.
According to show host and local Big Spring comedian Sergio Cervantes, the show spotlights talent in the area and focuses in on the culture that is slowly building in the community. He also noted that the audience members may laugh, they may cry, but they’ll definitely have a good time.
Jeremiah Peters, one of the producers and editors for the show, told KBest News that "Around the Desert" started off as a magazine created by the Desert Flower and later turned into a newsletter. Now, it’s evolved into the unscripted talk show.
He noted the format, created by owner Jeannine Thibault, is similar to a televised late-night show with Cervantes opening with a short comedic set, followed by guest interviews and musical performances. The show is filmed by Peters and local photographer Israel Valdez and each episode is uploaded to Youtube.
