This week, June 3rd through June 7th, is the 6th annual Wound Care Awareness Week.
Currently, 6.7 million people in the United States are living with chronic wounds. Due to the lack of awareness of advanced wound care, the vast majority of these people do not receive the treatment they need and deserve.
This week is dedicated to raising awareness of advanced wound care and its benefits to every patient living with chronic, non-healing wounds. Through this effort, Scenic Mountain Medical Center will raise awareness of the chronic wound problem and help community physicians identify patients who may benefit from advanced wound care.
