When There's Smoke on the Mountain or Clouds in the Air, K-Best News Is There!

Last week, Permian Basin Regional Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse and Howard County Juvenile Detention teamed up for a cigarette clean-up at the Kidz Zone inside of Comanche Trail Park.

Rebecca Baker, Youth Prevention Coordinator for PBRCADA in Big Spring, told KBest News that thanks to Juvenile Probation Youth and Forsan 5th grader PBRCADA was able to get cans purchased, painted, and decorated cigarette butt disposal cans to place out in the Kidz Zone at Comanche Trail Park.

According to Baker, the cans are not chained down but they are weighted with 50 pounds of sand. She hopes that the public will be aware of what the cans are for, use them, and be respectful of their purpose for others to use.
