KBest News has received more information concerning yesterday's shooting on eastbound I-20 between Coahoma and Westbrook.
According to Mitchell County Sheriff Patrick Toombs, the first calls on 04/18/19 received reporting an incident along I-20 were received at 6:22 AM and 6:35 AM with reports of a possible stranded motorist or that someone may have been struck by a vehicle. DPS Trooper arrived on scene at 6:46 AM and called for additional help to the scene.
Sheriff Toombs reported that one subject was found deceased on the scene, one subject was sent to the hospital, and 1 subject was taken into custody.
The subject taken into custody has been identified as 20-year-old Brandon Christopher Madrid, from Odessa (DOB:02/08/1999). He is currently in custody in Mitchell County Jail, and has three charges filed against him. His bail has been set for those charges as follows:
Murder - $500,000 bond
Aggravated Assault causing Serious Bodily Injury - $100,000
Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon - $100,000
