The 4th annual event Pints for Polio, hosted by the Greater Big Spring Rotary Club, is scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2019 at The Courtyard, located at 119 S. Main St. in downtown Big Spring, from 7-11 PM. This year’s presenting sponsor is SM Energy.
The event is a beer and wine tasting event to raise money for the Rotary International End Polio Now Fund. Tickets are $25 pre-sale and are available to purchase at the Big Spring Visitor's Center located at 113 East 3rd Street, The Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce located at 215 West 3rd Street, or the Train Car located at 100 South Main. You can also purchase a ticket from any Greater Big Spring Rotarian.
According to Mike Richardson, with The Greater Big Spring Rotary Club, this year’s event will be a little different from years past. He advised that this year, Main St. would be blocked off and the event would be more of a street dance with items for auction set up inside of the Courtyard.
The band performing will be the Marfa Lake Social Club, from Midland. Last year, approximately $33,000 was raised. This year the organization’s goal is to sell over 500 tickets and to raise twice as much as last year.
