The RED KETTLE CHALLENGE was kicked off yesterday at the Big Spring Walmart with Suggs Hallmark, who manned the red kettle and rang the bell for the Salvation Army of Big Spring. The Red Kettle Challenge encourages businesses, organizations, and community members to volunteer and sponsor a day to ring the bell for the organization during the Red Kettle Season which will continue through December 24th, excluding Sundays. The challenge was initiated by Tabitha Clark of Star Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram of Big Spring.

According to Captain Josh McKain with the local Salvation Army, Clark’s goal is for the Salvation Army to not have to pay anyone to ring the bell this season. Unfortunately, this will not happen this year, but the challenge has already saved the organization $1,000. Captain McKain went on to say that that in addition to raising money to help local families, you’ll also have the opportunity to promote your business or organization.

The WINNER of the Red Kettle Challenge will have bragging rights for the whole year, plus, the GOLDEN KETTLE to keep until the next Red Kettle Season!

To sign up for the Red Kettle Challenge call the The Salvation Army of Big Spring at 432-267-8239, or Tabitha Clark at 432-270-8970.
