State Senator José Menéndez, Representative for District 26, will continue the four Latino Summits tour by hosting his third regional Summit at Odessa College this Saturday, 10/27/18. The purpose is to promote and discuss legislative initiatives that reflect the common goals and objectives of the state’s Latino community.
The Midland/Odessa Latino Summit will consist of two panels, each of which will address issues facing Texas Latinos. This event will feature leaders from various sectors of the community, including Raul Marquez of Big Spring, Chief Volunteer Officer for the YMCA of Big Spring, and Big Spring native Santos Lujan, Principal of Presidio High School.
Marquez is scheduled to participate on the discussion panel for Civic Engagement at 11: 20 AM. Lujan will follow later in the day, scheduled at 1:20 PM to participate on the panel for P-16 Equity and Access to Education.
The Summits are free and open to the public. The event will be tomorrow, 10/27/18, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM in the Joe Zant Community Room at the Saulsbury Campus Center on the Odessa College Campus.
