A one-vehicle rollover near Ralls, TX, northeast of Lubbock, claimed the lives of two Howard County residents yesterday, and left one in critical condition.
Nova Montgomery, age 50 of Coahoma, and Brayden Sizenbach, age 18 of Big Spring, both died as a result of their injuries when the pickup that Mrs. Montgomery was driving left the roadway on Highway 207 at approximately 9:22 Sunday morning, 5 miles south of Ralls in Crosby County near County Road 188.
DPS Troopers tell KBest News that the passenger side tires left the roadway, which is approximately 4 inches higher than the grassy area. The driver swerved left, then right, at which time the vehicle went into a multiple rollover. Mrs. Montgomery and Mr. Sizenbach, both in the front seats, were wearing seat belts.
Austyn Montgomery, age 16, who was not wearing a seat belt and was in the back seat of the truck, is in critical condition at UMC Medical Center in Lubbock.
The accident is currently being investigated by the Department of Public Safety out of Lubbock.
Several fundraisers are being organized for the families. KBest News will report more information when it becomes available.
