During this week's Big Spring City Council Meeting on 3/27/18, the following was discussed:

A bid for 144 - 3 cubic yard trash containers was awarded to Roll-Offs USA for $74,640.

Discussion was held on upgrading the early warning communication system, and a request from a volunteer group to solicit donations for a roof over the amphitheater stage.

Barney Dodd, Owner of BAD Events, LLC., spoke at the council meeting and advised that he had already set up a 501c3 in place in order to begin collecting funds from various sources in order to build a roof over the amphitheater stage. The roof would be designed by an architect, and it was noted that Kelly Cook, the architect of the Spring Site renovation had stated that he would be interested in pursuing the project.

Dodd advised that one way they would raise the money is to offer naming rights to the amphitheater for the amphitheater and stage in exchange for donations.

He went on to say that his vision is to make the amphitheater a regional music draw because it's a great facility.
