**Republican Ballot Results—Howard County**
Candidates must receive 50% plus 1 vote in order to be declared the winner.
In the race for State Senator, District 31, Candidate MIKE CANON received 38.93% of the vote, and Incumbent KEL SELIGER received 49.41% in Howard County, however, Howard County provisional ballots and mail-in ballots have not yet been finalized and therefore could tip the scales to the acceptable percentage of 50% plus 1 vote to declare a victory in HowardCounty.
Statewide, Senate District 31 includes the Texas Panhandle and winds around Lubbock through the Permian Basin. Totaling all of the District 31 ballots including Howard County, KEL SELIGER has narrowly avoided a runoff with 50.5% of the vote. He is favored to win the election in November as there is no Democratic opponent in the running.
Results are not official until there is a state wide canvas.
